Ransomware cyber attack: 45,000 cyber attacks in 74 countries; computers in British hospitals, Spanish firms including India down

 In what can be called as one of the biggest cyber attacks, around 99 countries were largely hit by ransomeware infection- a cyber attack that halted many computers and services across the globe. According to global cyber security firm Avast, more than 75,000 cases of ransomware were identified so far around the world.

Out of all, the badly hit was National Health Service (NHS) in nations - England and Scotland, that led to cancellation of medical operations and appointments. The attack also been spread across India, particularly 100+ systems belonging to Andhra Pradesh were infected by the virus and most of them are Windows-installed computers.
The ransomware virus attacked computers have blocked users from accessing their files and a window demanding 300USD-600USD bitcoins is showing up on their screens.

The massive cyber attack is said to be the result of leaked documents from National Security Agency in USA.
